What are MADZAG products made of?

Genuine leather: deadstock cowhide and natural vegetable-tanned leather. Most of our coloured leathers have a paint-coated surface; Moonshine has a foil top layer that resists water and scratches, within reason. Every piece is made by hand in small batches in our Budapest studio.

Are products made to order?

Most pieces ship from stock. We only have a little leather in each colour, so colours can sell out, and we also release limited colourways. If you'd like a model in a colourway we don't normally offer, or an alteration such as a custom length, we can make it to order in up to 10 working days. Custom pieces can't be returned under the right of withdrawal.

Will the leather stretch?

No. Our leather products keep their size and don't stretch out with use.

How long does a leather collar last?

Usually 3–4 years with everyday use. Rotating two sets helps, just like with shoes. With good care it stays beautiful longer, and we can repair worn parts.

How do I care for a leather collar or leash?

Like a good pair of leather shoes. If it gets muddy or wet, wipe it with a damp cloth and let it dry at room temperature, away from radiators. Treat it with leather conditioner now and then. Read our care guide.

Do you do repairs?

Yes. The most common repair is a carabiner swap, which costs 2,000 HUF per item. We also fix worn stitching and worn-off colour; email us for a quote.

Why leather instead of nylon?

The plastic buckles on nylon collars can break, and the synthetic material sits right against your dog's skin. Leather is a natural material, comfortable, and repairable.

How do I choose a size?

Measure around your dog's neck with a soft tape measure. Our sizes overlap by 1 cm: XS 20–25 cm, S 24–30 cm, M 29–35 cm, L 34–40 cm, XL 39–45 cm, XXL 44–50 cm. Widths, long-neck sizes and leash lengths are in our size guide. Wrong size? We exchange it for free; you pay the shipping both ways.

Do you ship abroad?

Yes, to all EU countries by GLS, usually within a week of dispatch. We ship once a week, on Thursday; in Hungary you can choose GLS (usually next day) or Magyar Posta. Shipping costs are shown at checkout. Details are in our shipping policy.

Can I return something?

Yes. You can return any ready-made item within 14 days of delivery, for any reason. See our return & refund policy.
